are community-based and are underpinned by the values
of Personal Outcome Measures. |
| In addition
to the day programmes available, individuals can also
benefit from non- respite residential services e.g.
extended day services, home support services and annual
client holidays. |

| Menni Services
provide a wide range of programmes which offer individuals
opportunities in life skills development, work training,
relationships, leisure pursuits and planning for retirement.
All of these programmes concentrate on the individual’s
abilities, have a strong community focus and are based

| Uaisle is
a retirement programme and its aim is to cater for the
needs of people approaching a stage in their lives where
different priorities prevail. Uaisle enables participants
to develop appropriate life skills associations with: |

Understanding their changing role in society
and in their family |

issues or concerns associated with retirement |
| • Making choices
about leisure activities |
| • Becoming involved
in their local community |

| We offer a
range of Rehabilitative Training, Enterprise Activities
and Supported Employment options to an increasing number
of people. Gaining a variety of development skills and
work experience prepare the person for meaningful employment
and work. |

| We offer a
range of Rehabilitative Training Programmes to individuals
in Menni Services. Rehabilitative Training options are
available in a number of locations and there are a range
of modules from which individuals can choose from, such
as: |

Drama |
| • Personal Development |
| • Food and Cookery |
| • Computer literacy |
| • Preparation for work |

| The aim of
the Rehabilitative Training Programmes is to address
the independent living skills, social and personal development
skills and vocational skills for all individuals involved. |
| The Rehabilitative
Training Programmes are over three year duration and
are developed and monitored by the Health Service Executive |
| Each trainee
has access to an individual training plan which explores
and helps them achieve their personal goals. |
| On completion
of the Rehabilitative Training Programme, each trainee
will identify an outcome which may include: |

Supported Employment Full-time / part-time |
| • Further training / Education |
|

| Here we provide
a range of sheltered work opportunities. Those who work
in this area are provided with transferable skills which
they can use in mainstream work placements. |
| The food service
programme, for instance, involves the preparation and
serving of meals to seventy people on a daily basis.
There are also a variety of training programmes aimed
at developing each individual’s personal and social
skills. External work experience placement opportunities
are also available. |

| Menni Services
provide a range of work experience and supported employment
opportunities. The process we use for securing work
placement is as follows: |

Development of a personal profile |
| • Identification of employment
opportunities that match the abilities and aspirations
of each person |
| • A job matching process then
begins which considers the career ambitions of
each person and the expectations of potential
employers |
| • Employment support staff
will then provide the appropriate level of support
to the individual, the employer and, when necessary,
the family |

work in supported employment enjoy a range of job opportunities

| The Supported
Employment Service also offers a “Drop In Club”
where we address the social/leisure and educational
needs of individuals who work part-time in supported
employment. It does this through enrolment in adult
education classes, involvement in community-based activities
and skills teaching such as travel training and accessing
local amenities. |
