This
programme focus at day services in Islandbridge and
Exchange Hall, Tallaght is on dignity, choice, security
and opportunity. The programme options are flexible
with concentration being on individual abilities. A
wide range of programme options are available for children
and adults. These include: |

Menni
Early Services Programme provides home and centre-based
early intervention for children from birth to five
years who present with developmental delay. The programme
is available in our Le Cheile Nurturing Centre Sophia Housing 25 Cork Street Dublin 8 and also
at the Exchange Hall in Tallaght.

| Early
Services is delivered in partnership with families and
is supported by a multi- disciplinary team. The programme
offers: |
•
Screening and Assessment
• Parent Support and Training
• Counseling
• Home-based Programmes
• Support to children in Community Playgroups
• Centre-based Programmes
o Early Starters Group(children from birth to 3 yrs)
o Playgroup (children from 3-5yrs)
o Pre-school (children from 4-6yrs)

Home
Support Services was initiated to provide a short
break/respite to parents/primary carers. Home Support
provision of service may take the form of: |
a.
In Home Support: Whereby a Home Support Worker is assigned
to an individual in their own home for specified duties.
b. Out of Home Support: Whereby the Home Support Worker
facilitates community based social outings/activities
for the individual (thereby providing respite for parents/primary
carers).

role of the Home Support Worker is: |
A.
to provide support and to introduce a short break/respite
to the individual/parents/primary carers.
B. to support the individual’s needs.
C. to support each individual’s programme plan.
D. to provide a link to day centers and other members
of the multi-disciplinary team.

| Menni
Services provide a range of sporting activities for
all our children and adults who attend the service.
These include: |
•
Basketball
• Swimming
• Hockey
• Football
• Table Tennis
• Bocce
• Ten Pin Bowling
• Ramp Bowling
• Athletics
• Fine Motor Skills Programmes such as bean bag
throwing, ball lifting, kicking, and pushing, jumping,
wheelchair push, forward roll on gym mat.

In
our Gym we have multi-sensory equipment, a wheelchair
swing for adults and children and a wheelchair rocker
for adults and kids. Each individual is given the opportunity
to attend PE once a week if they wish. In PE class we
cater for all abilities from fine motor skills to team
sports. |
Special
Olympics play a huge role in our Sports Department.
Each individual has the opportunity to participant if
they wish to do so. Activities include Swimming, Athletics,
Basketball Skills and Team, Table Tennis, Bocce, Football,
Bowling and Motor Activities. |
